she stands silently in the darkness, watching him. Afraid to breathe, Afraid to move, lest he disappears back into the night. Her heart calls out silently to him, To end this nightmare she calls life, her breath catches in her throat as he turns, seemingly to have heard her. She trembles slightly as he moves toward her, his eyes boring holes, it seems, into her very soul. he raises his hand, slowly and without threat, one finger gently tracing a tear, as it tracks down her cheek. She lowers her head, as if ashamed, not wanting him to see her anquish, not ready to divulge her pain.
he softly carresses her chin, lifting it slightly, so he can gaze, Into her tear filled eyes. She sees no threat within his eyes, no cause for alarm, yet she trembles still, unsure of how to react. He leans forward, his eyes smiling now, his lips gently brush against hers, before she can pull away.
Eyes closed, senses realing, she sways lightly on her feet, her arms entwining themselves round his neck. As he scoops her into his arms, and lifts her effortlessly, carrying her towards the dawn, carrying her towards the light, carrying her towards her death. L.KensonĀ©2008
