"Look, she's still weak, which makes her an easy target. When Mason leaves to go eat or sleep i'll sneak in and kill her. Simple alright? Mason will be pissed though, so we'll have to deal with him next." Owen left his cousin and wandered around the place, checking out their equipment and getting to know some of them.
Mason stayed by Izobel the entire evening. Around 3am, Liam tapped his brother's shoulder and told him to go get some shut eye. "I'll watch the girls until morning. Izobel will be fine bro." Liam sat down in a chair in the corner of the room and after a while, his eyes started to droop. Around 4:30am, Owen stepped into the room silently. He had a syringe filled with poison in his hand and he crept toward Izobel's bed. Liam, having Elena's power, could hear Owen's deadly thoughts. He slowly opened his eyes just as Owen was raising his hand. Liam leapt out of his chair and and grabbed Owen's arm.
The two wrestled, slamming into walls, punching each other. Owen tried to use his speed and reflexes, but Liam used Elena's power to anticipate Owen's moves. Liam's speed also matched Owen's. Finally, Liam pushed down on Owen's arm, sending the syringe into Owen's chest. The poison seeped into Owen's blood stream, and he fell to his knees. "Why Owen?" Liam whispered, watching in horror as Owen shook and collapsed.

Elena woke up, having been told to stay in the medic's room overnight for observation. She watched as Own sunk to his knees and collapsed. "What happened?!" She exclaimed.
A few of the people had heard the struggle and ran into the room in time to see Owen drop as well. They all looked over at Liam while a few went to get Erik, he was the leader. Jadyn walked in and saw her cousin on the ground and ran over to him. "What did you do?!" She yelled at Liam while trying to wake Owen.

Liam waited until Erik arrived to explain himself. Erik was half-naked, dressed in pajama bottoms, when he ran in. "What's going on here? I'm suppose to be asleep!" Erik saw Owen's body and bent down to check his pulse. "Dead. Liam, what the hell happened?"
"He came in here and tried to kill Izobel. He had a syringe of poison, and he was gonna kill her. He woke up, saw it, and fought him. He would've stabbed me with the poison if he could have." Erik was beyond confused. Why would they be turning against each other? Liam heard the thought and answered. "Jadyn and Owen were upset with Izobel for leaking our location. They wanted to kill her while she was still weak."

Jadyn grabbed the syringe and ran at Liam with it, hoping to at least get some of the leftover poison in him. She managed to stick the syringe in his arm before she was flown back by Elena. She hit the wall and fell down where she was detained by two of the guys there. "I'm going to kill you both if it's the last thing I do! First Skye and now Owen! You both will pay for this!"
"What should we do with her sir?" The men who were holding Jadyn asked. They were big guys so Jade's struggling did little.

"Put her in a jail cell in the back," Erik shrugged. "She's a shapeshifter. Make sure all of your men know that. She'll try to trick you," Liam added. Erik nodded in understanding and waved the guards and Jadyn away. "Someone come in here and get rid of this body. Liam, you were jabbed. Perhaps we should check you out."
One of the healers gave Liam a generic antidote, just in case he'd been poisoned. "You'll be alright. Shall I wake up your brother so that you can rest?" Erik asked. Liam refused and sat back down in his chair. "My brother needs to sleep. I'm fine, just like you said." Erik chuckled and left the room to go back to sleep.

Jadyn struggled with the men as they dragged her out and to their little jail cells. She was shoved in one and the door locked. Tears fell down her cheeks. She had lost her close friend and her cousin all in one day. Owen had helped her through everything. I will kill Liam if it's the last thing I do. I'll make him suffer first, don't you worry cuz, I'll make him beg for death in the end.
"You sure you're okay?" asked Elena. Owen was their friend so she wasn't sure how Liam would feel about what had just happened.

"Well, I think i'm still in shock, but yes, i'm okay," he said, dragging his chair over to Elena's bed side. "I was sleeping, but I heard his thoughts, thank to you. They were frantic. He hated Izobel for 'betraying' us. He'd never been to the asylum. Jadyn hadn't even been there that long. I understand how difficult it can be, hiding your thoughts from Ryder. All that pain and one single slip up gives you away. My brother's going to be pissed when he finds out."

"I don't know if you've even taken a peek inside her mind, especially while she's sleeping. The things they did to her, I would've cracked long before her most likely." Elena shuddered at the thought. "I had to block her out to keep the images out of my mind." She had been overpowered by them, it was horrible. She was surprised on how Izobel survived all of that, not many people could.
"Where are we going to go after she heals? They have a good place going here, almost like a mutant sanctuary, but I don't think Erik has changed his ways."

"We can't stay here. If we do, we'll be part of Erik's crew. He'll have control of us, and I don't want him to force you to do anything you don't want to. We'll have to manage on our own. At least our numbers are smaller. You, me, Mason and Izobel. Hopefully it'll be easier staying under the radar."
Around 8am, Mason came storming in looking more pissed off than Liam had ever seen him. "I take it Erik told you what happened." Mason didn't reply. He only pulled a chair over to Izobel's bed and grabbed her hand. Liam didn't push it any further, but he did mention out loud that they had to leave soon. "As soon as Izobel's better, we're leaving."

"I agree. There's a few abandoned warehouses a few miles down. There we would be close to here in case we needed them for whatever reason, but far enough away where the guards wouldn't come knocking on our door if they found this place. We can just steal some things that we need." Elena stopped when Mason came into the room. She knew that if Owen had tried what he had when Mason was here, he would've gotten much worse than an accidental death. Mason would've ripped him to shreds.
After a few minutes she turned her attention back to Liam. "There are also a bunch of foreclosed houses a few miles from here, they may be comfier, but we may get some people knocking at our door. Doubt it, but it's possible. Though I could always make them see an empty lot and they'd leave."

"We'll figure something out," Liam smiled. He stood up and kissed Elena lightly on the forehead. "I'm gonna go check the place out and speak with our host. Rest if you can. Izobel's not the only injured one." Liam left his brother to keep an eye on the girls and went to Erik's office.
"What are you going to do with Jadyn?" Liam knew that she was dangerous, but he couldn't imagine killing her. She'd been a friend of his. "Depends whether we can change her ways or not. She's got an amazing power. Very useful against our enemy. If I let her go she'll come after you, won't she? Kill you for killing her brother." Erik poured them both drinks and offered Liam a cigar.
"No thank you. Look, as soon as Izobel heals we'll be out of your hair. I know...you wanted me to do something for you. I'd rather get that done before we leave. I don't like to owe debts." Erik had the perfect job for his old crew mate. Over the next few days, Liam did a number of odd jobs from robbing another bank to scaring anti-mutant protestors. Liam's last job was his most difficult. He led a small team into a local politicians house, and tortured the man for information.
Covered in the man's blood, Liam returned to the hideout with the information Erik had requested. Erik now had the passcodes to all the major government buildings and the data plans to a special weapon the government had been working on. The weapon would incapacitate all mutants within thirty miles of the device.

Elena had refused to stay another night in the medic ward. She felt fine so she chose to instead wander about the site. She talked to quite a few people and read the minds of a few others. She found out a lot about what went on there and in the government. It was very interesting.
Izobel woke up the next morning and over the next few days grew stronger and stronger. Mason never left her side except to go to the bathroom and when Liam forced him to sleep, it was as if he was afraid someone would try to kill her if he left. The few times Mason actually left her she talked with the medics. One of the girls, the one that could heal, was just about as old as she was. Her parents had fallen for the same thing Elena's parents had and they had agreed to have the general take her to the 'rehab' center to 'cure' her of her mutant powers. She didn't trust the general and ran away before he could take her. She met Erik a few weeks prior and he took her in.

"Thank you Liam for this information. Your debt is paid. Congratulations," Erik smiled, taking the usb from Liam. Finally finished, Liam ducked out of the room to go take a shower and get rid of the bloody clothes before Elena saw them. On his way to the showers, Liam decided to pass by the jail cells. "I just wanna talk to Jadyn please," he asked the guard. Having permission, Liam walked into the room and found Jadyn's cage. "How are the accomodations?"

Jadyn hadn't had anyone talk to her in a few days. She didn't even get eye contact unless they were bringing her food, and even then it was rare. To say the least she was surprised when someone spoke to her. She was pissed to find out it was Liam, though. Her eyes narrowed as he stood in front of her. If looks could kill, he'd be dead before he even hit the ground. "What do you want?" She snapped, turning her head to look at the wall instead.

"Why would you want to kill one of your own? Izobel is a part of our group. Owen was the one who tried to kill her, but I know you agreed with him. You want to kill me to, but I don't want to hurt you. Look, it's not like I meant to kill him. It was an accident," Liam rambled, avoiding eye contact with Jadyn. It was pretty easy when she was staring at the wall. "I'm leaving you in Erik's care when we leave. I'm sorry, but I don't trust you. I wish I could. I care about you."
