Eli picked her up by her leg and flipped her around until she was in his arms. "Just stay quiet, alright? I don't need you screwing this up for me. I need to get Shane out of here before Lilith changes her mind." He carried her through a dark alley and set her down behind a dumpster. He kneeled next to her and checked her wounds. "Look at you...why would you talk back to her? Oh ya, I forgot who I was talking to," he rolled his eyes. "I didn't tell her, you know. I didn't tell anyone about the hideout. I'm not sure how she found it. I was just angry with you when I said those things. I'm still a little angry," he sighed. "Look, where's your new hideout. I'll take you there and then you can rest."

"Were you just angry when you broke my leg?" Kendra was trying to keep her head up, but found it very hard. Her energy was almost totally gone. "You know as well as I do...she would've done this whether or not I talked back...I just liked seeing her get pissed..." A small smile spread across her lips.
"I'm not telling you where the new hideout is..." She said weakly. She managed to look up straight into his eyes. "You're being watched. You can either kill me or leave me for dead, I'm sure the guy following you has his orders to kill me if you don't...so which will it be? You...you have the heart to finish me off...?"

"I can't finish you off. I broke your leg because I didn't want you following me. I didn't want you to keep shooting me. I'd get angry, lose control and kill you. If you can't hurt me, I wouldn't be able to hurt you. I don't want to hurt you now, but I may have to," he smirked. "I may have to...knock you out so that you'll come with me quietly. I'm not leaving you behind. I'm taking you with me. You can run away from me when we get out of the country."

"You really didn't want to kill those people...did you...?" Kendra was a little surprised that Eli wasn't going to just leave her there, she had expected that. "I tried to kill you...why are you letting me live? Aren't you afraid I'm going to try to kill you and Shane..?" She rested her head on the wall, and looked down at Eli. She started to cough, blood pouring out her mouth. She was talking too much and it was starting to make her cough.

"Shhh....no more questions. Besides, you should know the answer to that question. Shane said I could never stop loving you," he chuckled. "I can't. I still love you and i'll always protect you. Shane will be happy to hear about this revelation."
Eli sniffed the air and peeked around the dumpster. "We're definitely being followed. Maybe we should lead him to the docks. Shane and I can finish him off." Eli could see blood trickling down her chin. He ripped off a piece of his shirt and dabbed her mouth with it. "I'm sorry for everything i've done."

Kendra bit her lip. She didn't want to hear that he loved her, it would make everything complicated. It was much easier to hate him when she thought he was a monster. She wanted to hate him for killing people, but the hate was vanishing. Tears stung her eyes before slowly falling down her cheeks. "Promise me...promise me you'll never kill someone...ever again..." She was trying to make herself feel better, that it was really okay for her to have feelings for him.

"But....I...." Eli didn't want to make that promise when his diet consisted of human flesh and blood. If you don't say yes, she's going to hate you. She'll leave you. She can't expect a miracle...i'm a monster. Eli gently wiped the tears running down her cheeks and gave her a small nod, and then a firm nod. "Yes, yes I promise."
Eli picked her up again and scanned their surroundings before leaving the alley. "You want me to give up human, yes? You want me to stop eating them. I won't be able to do it on my own."

"I want......I want you to stop hurting innocents. Kill all the bad guy...you want, like the guy following us. He's a human, probably late thirties...medium built..." Kendra moved slightly in Eli's arms and bit back a scream so it only came out as a soft whine. "Broken ribs...Lilith got really pissed...when I told her I had killed you. You know she's not going to let you leave, right? You're too rare, too valuable to let go..."

"I had hoped that she would have let us go easily. I should've known better. I do know better. I don't think my plan's going to work out so great so i'm making a new one." Eli tried to be gentle with Kendra, knowing Lilith had done a number on her. "I'm going to drop you off at the docks with Shane. You two will go into hiding. I don't care where you two go, just pick a place where you won't be found. I'm going to stay behind and deal with this mess. She wants a hybrid and she won't stop until she's got one."
Gabe was running away from a group of punks when he started laughing and tripping over himself. I can teleport! What am I running for? He disappeared right after that, leaving the young vampires dazed and confused. He reappeared on a ship in the harbor. He teleported onto the docks and then slowed down to take a breath.

"What are you going to do...?" Kendra wasn't liking the sound of his plan, especially since he was leaving her bloodied up body in the care of a still new werewolf. She had to admit Shane was doing real well, but she didn't know how she would be around all the blood. Plus she didn't want Eli dealing with Lilith on his own.
Shane was waiting at the docks like she had said when she suddenly smelt a new scent. Her head whipped around and she slowly walked closer to the smell. It was a human, she knew that, but who? She saw a young man around one of the buildings and a growl escaped her throat. She was going to see if he scared easily. If not, then he was probably a bad guy.

"Well, i'll try to reason with her, but if that doesn't work...i'm going to fight. I'll get rid of lilith, even if i'm killed doing it." When they arrived at the docks, Eli could smell Shane, but he couldn't see her. He set Kendra down beside one of the buildings and stood next to her. He looked around and then howled loudly, as a signal for Shane. "She's probably just exploring." Eli sat down and stared at Kendra with concern. "Should I take you to the hospital? I don't like to see you in pain."
Gabe heard the growl and narrowed his eyes at the young woman infront of him. "Uh, hello? I'm sorry, but did you just growl at me?"

"She's a demon, Eli. You won't be able to reason with her. If you want to get rid of her than let me help you." Kendra wasn't going to let him go on some suicide mission. It wasn't a smart idea. "Don't take me to the hospital...it would be too easy for me to be attacked. I just need to rest..." She was getting really drowsy and weak.
"Who are you?" Shane demanded. She heard Eli howl and turned in that direction. Her instincts were to go to Eli, but she didn't want to leave until she knew that this guy wasn't going to hurt them. "What are you doing here?"

"You are in no condition to help me. You can't even walk. How are you going to fight a demon?" he chuckled. He leaned in without warning and pressed his lips gently against hers. "Thank you for caring though. The whole wanting to protect me thing is really sexy," he smirked.
"I'm just walking around I guess. Is this private property? I'm sorry if it is. I had no idea. I like the water and these guys were chasing me. I came here cause I thought it was safe...quiet. My name is Gabe if it makes you feel better."

"I mean when I'm better. You're going to get killed if you go alone, Shane and I won't allow it. If you go with both Shane and I then we can kill her." Kendra turned her head just in time for Eli to press his lips against hers. She stared at him for a moment with a little smile on her face. She slowly lifted her hand, wincing as a sharp pain shot through her shoulder, and rested it on the back of Eli's neck. Ignoring the pain, she pulled Eli closer so she could kiss him back. She missed being able to kiss him.
Shane stood up straight and slowly walked around Gabe. When she was in back of him she sniffed, taking in his scent. She noticed that most bad guys she had come across had a trace of Lilith's scent on them, Eli always did, but Gabe didn't. "I'm Shane, a human like yourself shouldn't be out alone at night."

Eli deepened the kiss even further, elated that Kendra had forgiven him fully for everything he'd done. He'd missed being near her, kissing her. He wasn't even worried that Shane hadn't joined them yet. He wasn't even thinking about Shane. His thought were all about Kendra and her soft lips.
"Well, i'm not exactly human. I am, but i'm also a mutant. I can teleport. I was being chased and I teleported here." Gabe didn't mind telling her, because at any moment he could escape. He wasn't worried about Shane hurting him. "What are you doing here?"
