Staring up at the Stars

[Elijah]

"I can hear you, ya know. I'm a hybrid with supernatural hearing abilities," Eli said, returning to the group. "I'm not going to throw a hissy fit, because i'm not going with you. I know where the hideout is and i'll meet you there later. I have...things to do. Anyway, your men don't like me Kendra. I'm a traitor, remember? If you wouldn't mind, take Shane and this guy with ya. Shane, I want you to make sure Kendra stays in bed and rests."

[Kendra // Shane // Lilith]

Kendra propped herself up and narrowed her eyes at Eli. "What 'things'? Eli, you're not planning on going to talk to Lilith, are you?" She accused. Her ribs were killing her in that position, and even though she tried to hide the pain, it was obvious in her face. "Promise me you won't go over there."

Shane turned to look at Eli. "Are you really? After what she just sent after us? Come on Eli, have some brains. That would be a suicide mission."

[Elijah]

"Uh excuse me, but I never said anything about Lilith. I'm not going to deal with lilith. I'm starving. I didn't want to shout it to the world or our new friend here, but i'm going to hunt down some gang members and eat them. Alright?" Eli had promised to stop eating humans, but Kendra had agreed that the criminals could die.

[Kendra // Shane // Lilith]

"Alright, I'm sorry." Kendra said. She was wrong, but it was hard not to jump to conclusions with Eli. She felt like she had just gotten him back and she didn't want to lose him, especially from him doing something stupid.

"Let's go Gabe. Eli, take down a few werewolves if you can, some less of those beasts will be good." Shane would've like to go with Eli but it looked like he wanted some alone time. The smell of Kendra's blood was making her really hungry and that was in the fresh air. She wasn't going to be able to stay around her in the factory.

[Elijah]

Eli couldn't help but be grumpy when he was hungry. Before the group left, Eli went over to Kendra and kissed her cheek. "I'm sorry about the attitude. I'm glad you care about me so much. You don't want me to get hurt. I appreciate it," he smiled. "Be safe...i'll meet you at the hideout. I promise."

"Ready guys?"Gabe placed a hand lightly on Kendra's shoulder and grabbed Shane's hand.

[Kendra // Shane // Lilith]

"You be careful, alright? Her slaves will still be out looking for you." Kendra didn't want to let him go, but he needed to eat. Before they teleported, she quickly kissed him gently on the lips. When they teleported into the factory she tried to brace herself so she wouldn't get hurt, but she still hurt her ribs. She managed to only let out a small groan.

They were surrounded within minutes by guys with large rifles. "Kendra...?" One guy said as he lowered his weapon. "What happened?!" He rushed over to her side to check out her injuries. "Did you run into that hybrid?"

Kendra shook her head softly. "Lilith. Her guys ambushed Derek, Aaron, and I while we were getting supplies. They...they shot Derek and Aaron. They took me and Lilith tried to find out where we were keeping everyone." She could see how worried they were getting and she flashed them a small smile. "Hey, do you really think I would tell?"

The guys faces lightened and the one kneeling beside her grinned. "Of course not, Kendra. How did you escape?"

"Uh, guys. Not to ruin this lovely story time, but Kendra's pretty beaten up and if you don't get her some help soon, I might eat her." Shane piped in.

The guy stood up and looked at Shane. "Aren't you that hybrid's bud? Why are you even here?!" He snapped. He was going to order the guys to drag her out when Kendra grabbed his ankle.

"Don't, Kyle. Eli and Shane didn't rat out our hiding place. In fact, Eli was the one who got me out of Lilith's so please, treat them as guests." She asked softly. Kyle looked at Gabe and Shane before giving the signal to lower the weapons. He had them pick Kendra up carefully and bring her into the office where there was a cot.

Eli tracked down a gang pestering some poor couple. He attacked one, ripping the guy apart. This provided a distraction and the husband and wife were able to run away. He smashed another man's skull into the wall, and he was about to go after another when he felt a sharp pain in his arm. A werewolf was biting into his flesh. He kicked the monster off and turned into his hybrid form. A blood battle ensued. The human gang members called Lilith's house for back up, while the werewolf kept Eli busy.

When more arrived, they all ganged up on Eli, weakening him greatly. "Nighty night. Lilith can't wait to see you, traitor." They shot Eli six times, knowing that the silver would keep him down until they got to the house. They dragged his body up the steps and through the door of Lilith's house and then headed for the basement.

Gabe helped the others get Kendra to a bed, and then he let the others take over. "You should've gone with Eli if you were hungry," Gabe said, rejoining Shane.

[Kendra // Shane // Lilith]

"It's just the blood. Once that smell goes away I should be fine for another day." Shane's eyes were darker, they always got darker when she was hungry. "Want to check out the place?" She asked looking around. They could go up on the roof while Kyle and the others fixed up Kendra. She wouldn't go near her until the blood was gone. A few more minutes and she would've attacked Kendra.

A few cries of pain could be heard echoing through the factory as they made a brace for her leg and wrapped up her torso. They put some alcohol on her cuts, which stung, and iced her bruises. Kyle stayed with her the whole time, comforting her when the pain got really bad. It took about an hour to wrap her up nicely. She laid on the cot and tried to sleep as Kyle talked to her.

A week went by and no one had heard a word from Eli. Gabe and Shane had grown closer, and he was a great distraction for Shane, being so worried about Eli's whereabouts. Eli was stuck in Lilith's basement, rotting away. They refused to feed him, making him so weak, he could barely move.

Gabe returned to the hideout with a crate of food and supplies for the rebels. "The streets are gettin' bad. If I couldn't teleport, i'd probably be lying on the sidewalk dead. How's Kendra doing?"

[Kendra // Shane // Lilith]

"Alright, but she's getting antsy. She keeps trying to let us take her out to look for Eli. She's really worried about him, so am I. Lilith has him, I know it." Shane said, turning her head to look at Gabe. "She wants me to wait until she is better, but that won't be for a few more weeks, by then he could be dead. I need to go and try to get him back. But how?" It was getting so frustrating, especially since she didn't even know if he was alive.

"Hello Eli." Lilith said as she walked down the basement stairs and over to where he was shackled to the wall with silver chains. "It's been a week now. I must admit you're strong, but how much longer can you stay like this? Are you ready to come back and work for me?" She asked as she knelt down in front of him.

[Elijah]

"I understand. You don't want to send a group of people out to look for him if he's dead. They could be ambushed and killed themselves. Did you ever think that maybe he just ran? Please don't get angry with me, i'm just as confused and worried as you are. He just looked so conflicted on the beach that day. He wanted to be everything for you and Kendra but maybe he just knew that wasn't possible. Maybe he got scared. Or...he could've been kidnapped."

Eli would've spat in her face if he could've, but his mouth was too dry. "No," he coughed, trying to push against his chains. There was a hissing sound as the silver in the shackles burned into his skin. He gave up and leaned back. Eli would never admit it, but he'd eat almost anything if he was starving. "You can't use me when i'm so weak. I won't be able to move. My prey will get away."

[Kendra // Shane // Lilith]

"He didn't run." Shane wasn't angry with him for suggesting it, but her answer was firm. "He joined Lilith's gang in the first place because of me. He just got Kendra back. He would've have left us. I am positive that Lilith has him. Whether she killed him or not, I don't know. I think he's alive though. I think Lilith would want to use him as bait or something."

"Oh, you agree to join us and I'll feed you whatever you'd like. Decline, and you'll stay here, rotting away. Do hybrids die of hunger?" Lilith gave him a wide grin. "I guess we may find out, unless you want to tell me where your friends are hiding. I'll trade that answer for a few humans."

[Elijah]

"Maybe we should wait then. If she's gonna use him for bait, she's gonna have to give us a sign that he's still alive, right?" Gabe placed a hand on Shane's back and rubbed gently. "Well find him."

"I'd rather rot here and suffer for the rest of...of eternity! I'll never tell you anything and i'll never join your gang. Never ever ever ever ever," he panted, running out of energy and breath.

[Kendra // Shane // Lilith]

Shane nodded. "You're right. We'll find him, even if I have to kill everyone in my way." She said, determined. She would find him and if he was dead, she would make sure Lilith's dead was slow and painful.

Lilith's face turned serious. "Very well, I'll find them soon enough. I'd like to introduce you to Katerina." She turned her head to look at a girl that stood at the bottom of the stairs.

"Is there a reason you dragged me out of bed at three in the morning?" Katerina snapped at Lilith.

"Yes, Kat. I want you to track some people down for me." Lilith grinned at Eli. "Last chance Eli. Either way I'm going to find your friends. At least this way you will be able to live your life."

[Elijah]

"My life means nothing. I will never tell you where they are." Eli glared at Kat and even showed his sharp teeth. Why would anyone listen to Lilith? Oh right, to save their own skin. "You might as well just kill me. If I get out of here I will center my life around killing you. Both of you," he growled.

Gabe took Shane to the eating area and made sure she got some nourishment. He didn't want her forgetting about food because of Eli. "Have you seen that guy, Kyle, hanging around Kendra? Suppose we end up finding Eli...this place may turn into a soap opera. I mean, i'm a guy and I can see how cozy he's getting."
