"Spread out guys! Make sure you get the formula!" Riley told her men before bolting for the door. It was about to close when she slid underneath it just in time. "Score one for the Riles." She said with a smirk. She stood up and looked both ways before ducking into a room. Garrett never told her how to get to Lukas' room so she would have to wing it. Luckily, she had gone into the control room so it had surveillance of the whole building. She couldn't find the inside of Lukas' room, but she found one on the outside, pointing straight at it.
Before she left, she shut down all surveillance and cut the power. Her guys had night vision goggles and it would make it harder for the scientists to see in the dark. She walked out and down a few halls until she got to the hallway where Lukas' room was. Garrett was right, it was heavily guarded. There were two men who looked like hybrids, standing guard.
She reached in her bag and pulled out a small, round device. It was full of tear gas. She put on a gas mask before throwing the bomb into the hallway. Within seconds the hall was full of tear gas and she could hear the hybrids growling in complaint. She ran forward and shot both in the head with silver bullets before snapping their necks. She wasn't sure whether that would kill them or not, but it would at least by her time.
She kicked Lukas' door down and walked in as she pulled off her mask. "Long time no see Lukas." She said with a smile.

Lukas looked startled for a moment, but he quickly covered up his fear with a sick smile. "You've brought your friends here to die Riley. You don't care about them, do you? No, all you care about is getting revenge. Killing me. Their lives mean nothing. For someone who claims to be one of the good guys, you sure don't act like one. We're so alike....you and I," he grinned. He examined the gun in his hand, making sure the safety lock was off and the bullets were loaded correctly.
Garrett continued taking down the security forces rushing in. He picked up a strange scent while fighting, and chased after it as soon as he crushed the guards head. The scent took him to an empty hallway. He then met eyes with Jo, Darla and a few hybrids escorting them to Lukas. When the hybrids realized that Garrett was a defector, two of them grabbed the girls and ran in the opposite direction. The last hybrid stayed behind to fight Garrett.
Erik waited outside with the rest until he heard the commotion inside. "Lets go! Kill as many as you can!"

"I will NEVER be like you! You take innocent people and turn them into monsters! My friends are here for the same reason I am, to stop you from hurting another innocent. And really, I think your team is getting creamed out there. You may have super special hybrids, but my men know how to take them down. Soon you'll be on your knees begging for us to spare you, but mercy won't help you now." Riley wasn't going to let him get to her. She knew all about his mind games.
"There is nothing you can do to make me spare your life. You have nothing to offer me. But I will let you die with dignity. You can put that gun your holding down, I'll put mine down, and we can fight mano y mano."
Jo had her hands tied up with a pillow case so she couldn't touch any of the hybrids. Lukas had probably given them a heads up on her powers. She tried to headbutt one of them and struggle free, but nothing worked.

"You didn't take an innocent young man and turn him into a monster? I think you did. You took Garrett and turned him into your puppet. You made him kill his friends. Did you not think of that?" Lukas set the gun down on his desk, but he had no intention of letting Riley kill him. "I have something to show you Riley. Ah boys, right on time." The hybrids dragged Jo and Darla in through a secret book case entrance to Lukas' office. "You see Riley, I have something you might want. I have no problem sacrificing this little girl to get what I want," he chuckled. "Put your gun down and surrender."
Garrett finished off the hybrid that he'd been fighting and tried to follow the Jo's scent. It led him to a portrait in another room. "A portrait?" Garrett felt around the sides of the painting and accidentally pushed a button on the side. The portrait opened and Garrett followed the dark tunnel.
Erik jumped over the dead bodies and tried to find Riley. "Where is she??!" he asked frantically. Some of her men pointed toward the blocked hallway. "Can you override the doors? Try!"

Riley turned around and her heart sunk. They had Jo and the little girl. "If I surrender, will you let them go? Let them all go, I mean. Every one of my men." She knew what that would mean for her. Lukas would probably kill her, but what else could she do? Nobody could get to them since the doors were locked, and she wasn't going to risk the lives of Jo and a five year old girl. She had been so close. A few more moments and she could've killed him.

"Of course I will let them go," he said sincerely. As soon as Riley set down her weapon, Lukas raised his and shot her twice in the chest and once in the leg. Hearing the shots, Garrett ran through the secret passage way and stepped out of the book case. "Oh good, welcome back Garrett. Your failure will be forgiven as soon as you kill this young woman," Lukas said, pointing to Jo.
Garrett pushed Lukas without a second thought, sending him flying into the wall. The hybrids guarding the girls turned their attention to Garrett. Erik managed to find someone who could slice through the controls of the doors. He made his way to Lukas' office and busted down the door. He fist noticed the fight going on between the hybrids and Garrett. His gaze then fell on Riley. "No!" He knelt down beside her and stroked her hair. "I'll get your out of here."

Riley had been expecting the shots, but didn't think he'd do it this soon. Pain flooded her and she could feel her blood soaking through her clothes. The next thing she knew Erik was leaning over her. "You should go...take Jo and...you have to get out of here." She breathed. Each breath brought a whole knew wave of pain. She had been shot before, but never anything serious. Luckily, the two bullets that pierced her chest didn't hit anything major. If she was cared for soon she would probably make it, but she didn't think that.
Jo picked up the little girl and turned to see Garrett fighting the hybrids and Erik bent over Riley. "Garrett, Erik, we have to go! Come on!" She couldn't deny that when Erik rushed over to Riley a pain went through her chest, but this wasn't the time for jealousy. They all needed to get out of there, and quickly.

Garrett listened to Jo immediatly, finishing off both hybrids by decapitation. He'd gone through training with them. "Your safety is first. Take the girl and go. I'll stay and make sure your friends get out alright. You have to get the little girl out safe," Garrett told Jo, hoping she'd take the hint and run.
Erik sat down beside Riley and tried to cradle her. He leaned down and kissed her lightly on the lips. "I'm not going to leave you." Erik knew there was pretty much zero hope for her, but he wanted to stay by her side until she left this world. "I love you."

Jo took one last look at Erik and Riley, hearing him tell her 'I love you'. Those were the words she had hoped he would say to her. Tears stung her eyes but she shook them off, remembering about the little girl in her arms. She ran out the door and down the hallway, passing a few people on the way. She told them where the others were before running out of the building.
"You're a moron...you'll die if you stay here. Leave. M-Make sure everyone...everyone gets out o-okay..." Riley winced as she coughed up some blood. Looking up at Erik seemed to make some of the pain vanish. She had never had anyone besides her parents say that they loved her. It was something new and she just wished it didn't have to end like this.
Katerina ran into the room, having just knocked out one of Lukas' accomplices. This one was a witch, like her, and annoying powerful, but not as good as she was. "What are you guys still doing here?! We need to leave, everyone's already retreating!" She noticed Garrett watching Erik who was cradling Riley in his arms. "What happened?!"

Garrett noticed how hurt Jo looked as she ran out of the room. He felt the urge to chase after her and make sure she was alright. "She was shot," he mumbled, answering Katerina's question. He thought that Erik and Katerina could handle Riley, so he left the room to check on Jo and Darla.
Erik looked up at Katerina, his eyes watering. "Lukas shot her. I-I don't know what to do. I don't wanna lose her. Can you do anything?"

Katerina almost laughed at Erik's question, but she refrained because he looked so hurt. "Bullets are almost too easy. Hold on." She knelt down infront of Erik and held her hands out over Riley's body. She spoke softly in latin as she closed her eyes. She was a little warn out from her battle with the other witch, but she would be able to heal Riley, no problem.
After a few minutes the bullets floated out of Riley's body and fell to the ground beside them. Then the bullet holes slowly started to heal themselves, first the blood stopping, then the wound closing, and last the scar disappearing. Unfortunately by then Riley had already passed out from the pain. "When she wakes up she'll probably be a little soar, but she'll be just fine. Now, we really need to get out of here! The have some pretty powerful people here." She got up and waited for Erik to pick Riley up before running down the hall.

Erik carried Riley out of the building, followed by the rest of their troops. "Back to base!" Everyone returned to motel room, where the wounded were tended to, and the leaders could regroup. "Was Lukas killed?" one of the commanders asked. Erik looked around the room and then zeroed in on Garrett. "Did you kill him? You were there?" Suddenly all eyes were on Garrett. He took a step back, nervous about all the attention.
"I threw him into the wall but...I umm...I don't know if he was killed." Erik couldn't believe what he was hearing. "You weren't even suppose to come back here!" Erik yelled. "You were suppose to stay there, kill Lukas and be killed by his troops!" Erik returned to Riley's side, fuming. "Get him out of here please." Garrett was escorted outside and left there. He sat down and leaned back against the motel wall. Erik was right to be angry. Garrett wasn't a real ally. He'd turn on them in a week, wouldn't he?
"What are we gonna do?" Erik asked the group, stroking Riley's hair. "We went in to kill Lukas but we only lost our own men instead."

"You didn't have to be so rude, Erik!" Jo piped in. "He was just following my orders and I didn't tell him to kill Lukas, I never even told him to hurt him. Riley wanted to kill him so if you want to blame anyone, blame her! She shouldn't have left me here by myself with a five year old girl!" She walked outside, not being able to bear watching Erik stroke Riley's hair. She sat down beside Garrett and handed him a water bottle. "I'm sorry I made you kill your friends. And I'm sorry I made you do this. Now you're in trouble because of us."
Rick stepped up. "We're just going to have to strike again, and soon. The sooner we attack again the less time he'll have to rebuild his army. We may have lost a few men, but we killed more of theirs."
"It won't be that easy." Katerina replied. "You all underestimate Lukas' power. Now that he knows what we're trying to do, he'll retaliate, and quickly. He'll find something even worse then what we faced today."

Garrett gladly took the water bottle and gave Jo a sweet smile. "It's alright. I know you were just trying to keep your loved ones safe. I never wanted to hurt people, but I suppose it's better to hurt bad people than good, right? I just wanted to make you proud and keep you safe. I was so scared when I saw you in Lukas' office....bound and guarded by those hybrids..."
"He's probably going to leave the facility and hide somewhere else. I've heard rumors that he has a back up facility hidden underground in the forest. I'm not sure where the entrance is though." Erik kissed Riley's forehead and gripped onto her hand. He wasn't even giving Jo the time of day. He was so wrapped up in caring for Riley. "We should hide Riley, Jo and Darla before we attack."

"You weren't under my control, were you? See when I control people I have this sort of tie to them, like a bond. I didn't feel that anymore when we were in the office. Yet you tackled Lukas and helped us escaped. You did amazingly. We wouldn't be here if you didn't kill those hybrids or knock Lukas out. I know he wouldn't have kept his end of the bargin, after he shot Riley he was going to kill us too. Thank you." Jo smiled weakly at Garrett.
Rick and a few others laughed. "You know Riley won't just hide. You'll need to knock her out, tie her up, and hide her. And then she still might get out. She's had her heart set on killing Lukas since I took her in. She's not going to lay low without a fight. As for Jo and my daughter I do agree. We can't have them anywhere where Lukas' men could get them again."
"You know me so well Rick." Riley said with a smile as she opened her eyes. She felt unusually sleeping and when she sat up, her leg and torso ached. "Ah damn, that's not a pleasant feeling. So what did I miss?"
