Laurell sighed in happiness her hunger fully sated the 3 dead guards littering her feet. She grinned over at sam wiping the back of her hand across her lips "Damn i needed that" she giggled as she rose to her feet. "Maybe we should make our way back now" Laurell wrapped her arms round herself as she spoke watching Sam carefully. She hadnt seen the girl feed only play with the guards before she killed them and tossed them to laurell.

Sam jumped to her feet with a smile on her face. "Alright! You full? Or do you need something on the way back?" she asked. She was eager to be around Requiem. She didn't like being alone with Laurell, it made her uneasy for some reason.
"It's fine Ewan, but you know that it was the vampire's fault that Hunter's gone. He was being tortured, and if he escaped it would've just happened to him again. The thought has crossed my mind several times when I've been tortured. Of course I would never go with it. Not unless you were..." She couldn't get herself to say dead. But Alex knew that she would probably loose the will to fight if Ewan died.

Ewan frowned and he was about to argue when another sudden wave of calm filled him. "Please....dont ever do that for me? Dont kill yourself if im gone," he whispered, his fingers brushing against her cheek. "You've told me the same thing and.....I cant argue with you because.....im sure id do the same thing. There wouldnt be a reason to live left." Ewan picked her up and sat her on his lap, holding her in his arms. "I dont know what i'd do without you. You did amazing tonight. Fought like a true slayer. I just wish i'd done better." He was still blaming himself for the death.
Requiem had built a large fire in the middle of the warehouse and punched a hole in the roof for the smoke to get out. "Mmmm, so warm. Now all we need is some chairs and horror stories."

Laurell misted into the warehouse... she was enjoying her new powers... and appeared in front of the fire. its warmth hit immediately and she sighed happily her eyes finding Requiem "I biught you back a snack Requiem" she said tossing a guard at him. the poor guy had been hypnotised into beliving he was with a goddess and happily came along with her. She smiled at Requiem before curling up infront of the fire like a cat

"It doesn't matter. We aren't going to die. We can get through this, together. It might be easier with Kris back," Alex tried to sound hopeful, she wanted so badly to know for sure that they would live for a long time. After seeing Hunter her doubts grew, she didn't believe that they would make it passed their twentieth birthday, but she had to convince Ewan that they would.
Sam entered the warehouse, skipping along and sat down beside the fire. She glanced up at the ceiling and rolled her eyes. "You know now when it rains we're going to get wet, and when the sun comes we're going to have to be careful."

Requiem devoured the man and muffled his screams with a cloak. Once he was done, he threw the body into the large bonfire. He chuckled darkly and looked up as well. "Well, we wont have to worry about that. We're moving. They're bulldozing this place tomorrow afternoon. I found us a perfect warehouse down by the west river. Its huge and night guards go there frequently. Its just like pizza delivery," Requiem sat down in between the two girls and kissed them both on the cheeks. "So, how are my girls? Have you found any mates? Remember, we have to be on the look out for vampires that want to join our cause. The more we have, the easier it'll be to kill off the slayer and her dog of course."
Ewan nodded and gave her a small, unconvincing smile. "It'll be fine. I mean, look how long we've lasted. It must be a new record. But Requiem's coven is growing....he's a smart vampire Alex....I dont know if I'll be able to.....if we....." he trailed off.

Laurell watched as Requiem devored the guard a small spiteful smile on her lips. she loved the way they screamed, she curledon her side and giggled at Sam mention of sunlight "Some of us will have to be careful" she mumbled gleefully before turning to listen to Requiem as he mentioned them moving to a new warehouse. "Sounds good to me" she mumbled softly the air round her hardly moving. his next words made her sitr up straight "Mates?" she questioned looking at him slightly confused, she shrugged her shoulders, she wouldnt gain a mate... not with the male population round here, she sighed and shook her head... "Nothing happening with me Requiem" she whispered

"As they grow, we grow stronger. We'll win. All we have to do is survive for another couple of years. My dad told me that once I become twenty five, my slayer abilities are passed on. They need young girls so in ten years we'll be free. Well, I'll be free. You can leave at any time." She pointed out, jealous of Ewan's freedom though she couldn't understand why he wouldn't go. She was just a human, there were girls wherever he would go, why would he want her?
"I killed my old mate. Pityful humans. I haven't seen another male unless you count yourself." Sam wasn't conserned with mates, they seemed to much of a hassel. She didn't care for going out of her way for another vampire. For the time being she could handle herself.

Ewan rubbed her back, trying to sooth her nervous breathing. She was trying to hide her doubts and uncertainties. It was pointless. Ewan was special and he could tell. He layed down, bringing Alex down next to him and held her in his arms. "You dont have to be strong for me. I know what you really think and feel. You're trying to be the strong one. You're trying to make me feel better. I'm fine and you need to believe what you're saying alright? Nothing will happen to us. We really will make it. When you turn 25, we'll leave this place and live happily ever after. You will make it to your 25th birthday," he said, kissing her head.

Laurell turned onto her stomach and propped her chin on her hands, sunrise was approaching she could feel it in her bones. "45 minutes till sun up" she stated softly as she picked up a small stick from the fire its tip alight and glowing angryily in the darkness. laurell stared deep into the flames watching them consume everything in their way. "Isn't fire fun" she asked of no one in particular

"I'm sorry...there's just so many things that don't make sense to me. Like why you would stay here risking your life, for me." Alex glanced up at his face, as if waiting for him to agree with her and leave. She had never thought about what she would do if Ewan left her. Now that the thought came to her mind she wasn't sure. Would she be in enough mental shape to keep fighting? Would she go and try to get him back? No. If he left she would let him. She wouldn't try to bring him back there to his doom.

Ewan's face turned serious and there was a trace of anger in it. "Dont say that. You know i'd never leave you. When I met you at the gym for the first time, I knew i'd never leave you. For many reasons, but the main one is that I love you. The kind of love that I feel for you is.....supernatural, like us," he said chuckling. "Its unique and paranormal. But I like it...."
Requiem wandered the building for a few minutes and then stopped in his tracks. "I think its time we built up our forces. Im going out. Ill be back soon, before sunrise. Im gonna go get some new family members. Be careful and just relax......ive got some human blood in the freezer. They're in wine bottles. Ill be back soon..." with that, he left and headed for the dark alleys of downtown.

Laurell sat up and watched as requiem left the warehouse. her eyes spun to Sam "new family members" she queried she shrugged her shoulders and rose from her place by the fire, wandering over to one of the windows, "it wont be long until sunrise" she said to no one in particular, she knew Sam didnt like her and quite frankly laurell couldnt give a damn.

Alex said nothing, not wanting to get into an argument. "But you'd be much safer anywhere else. Danger will follow me around, but not you." The words slipped out, and she found that part of her was hoping Ewan would agree with her so he would leave and be safe. She didn't want to loose him. But she wanted him to stay here, he made her feel safe and more confident.
