"Wait. You left him in a cave by himself?!" Alex had a disgusted look on her face. She could picture all the wounds on Ewan, they would probably get infected if he was on a cave floor and if he was alone, what if a vampire smelt the blood and wanted a snack? All of Hunter's answers were making her more anxious and antsy. She was getting annoyed at Hunter as well. He was keeping something from her, something important.

"He's not.....alone. Obviously I needed a vampire to.....start the hybrid transformation. Ewan was, after all, only a werewolf." Hunter was trying to hold the truth in, but Alex just kept pushing it. "If I tell you, will you promise me that you wont worry and that you'll stay here in bed? I promise when the sun comes up, you'll see Ewan. Believe me, I wont be able to stop him. After tonight, he's going to be stronger than me." Hunter took a deep breath and continued. "Laurell is watching over him. I asked her to bite him and then.....*sigh* I left. She's a friend to me and I trust her. I know you dont, but please stay calm. I should go check on him anyway...."

Anger boiled inside of Alex as she listened to Hunter. "You let a vampire bite Ewan?! And not only a vampire but the same exact one who almost killed both Ewan and I?! What the hell is wrong with you?!" She snapped. That had just sent her over the edge. No wonder Hunter wanted to keep the truth to himself, it was revolting! "How could you let her stay with him?! She could be doing god knows what to him!"

"True. Thats why I must leave you and go check on him. Trust me, he's fine. Laurell seemed to take a liking to him," immediatly, he regretted saying that. "She's not gonna kill him alright? I should go." Hunter got up, checked her monitors one more time and headed for the door. He turned around, his hand on the door knob and smiled. "I know you're mad with me, but it was the only way to save him. Too much silver in his veins. Now, he'll live. He had to become a hybrid at some point. Its why I picked him. He has hybrid blood....Rest....please"

"He wouldn't have needed saving if that damn vampire didn't shoot him full of silver in the first place. There are no good vampires Hunter. She's going to turn on you and if Ewan gets hurt because of her, I will never forgive you." Alex turned her head away from Hunter. She was disgusted with him. "How could he do that?!" She thought. She was furious and was tempted to get out of bed and go to the caves.

Hunter shook his head and left the room, making his way to the cave. Almost an hour later, Ewan entered the hospital, hobbling down the corridor to Alex's room. Some nurses tried to stop him and check him out, but he said he was fine. He was surprised they didnt know what he really was. Finally he opened the door and sat down in the chair left by Hunter, at Alex's bedside. He brushed his fingers across Alex's unharmed skin and kissed her lips gently.

Alex looked at Ewan, looking for any wounds. He seemed mostly healed which made her relieved, slightly. "Are you okay? Did she hurt you at all?!" She asked, nervous. She really didn't care about the pain she was feeling. She was worried about Ewan, especially since he was alone with Laurell, moments after she had tried to kill him and her.

Ewan nodded and looked her over, a worried look on his face. "You healing alright? Geez, Im so sorry. I guess I should've protected you better. Atleast Damien wont bother you anymore." Ewan didnt want to talk about Laurell, because he knew that Alex would never see eye to eye with her. "Im not gonna lie to you, the transformation was terrible. But now....im a hybrid. Half vampire, half werewolf. Lets see those creatures try to get to you now," he said smirking. "She bit me under Hunter's orders. She stayed with me the whole time and she didnt hurt me alright? I think we all made some mistakes. She should've have attacked you. But.....she's willing to change. Im not gonna ask you to forgive her right now. I mean, she almost killed you. She did take care of me though and I think you should atleast think about forgiving her. ENough about that. I dont want you to be upset. I just want to make sure you're alright...."

As soon as Ewan finished, Alex let out a soft "humph" and turned her head to look at the opposite wall. "I can't believe it. They've brainwashed you too. Dang scum!" She turned to Ewan, her face full of disgust. "Willing to change? Are you serious?! She's a vampire Ewan, not a werewolf! She has no soul! I will never forgive her. When I get well, I'm going to train, and with or without your help I'm going to kill her." Her voice was harsh and full of the anger she felt.

Ewan sat back in his chair, hands in his lap and frowned. "So.....what? Do I not have a soul? Im a vampire now too, ya know. Hunter is. I understand why you're angry, but why with me? She saved my life, and she was nice to me, so I'll be nice back. Im still going to protect you. I even got her to swear never to attack you." Ewan didnt want to go any further with his speech because he was sure that she wouldnt listen. "Do you still care about me? Im sorry, but its what had to be done to save my life and she took care of me. The transformation wasnt easy Alex. Im sorry. Ill stay with you for as long as you want me, but I wont hunt her down and kill her. She saved my life. How could I do that?" he asked softly.

"Your life wouldn't have needed saving if she didn't shoot you with silver bullets! She's the reason you had to go through that. Damien hurt you but you would've healed. She pumped you full of silver and you want to trust her?! Do you actually think she's going to keep her word? I'm a slayer, she's a vampire. She wants me dead just like every other damned creature in this town! I'm angry that you would forgive her so easily! How can you look at me, see what she did to me, and still want her alive?" Alex had turned her head back to look at Ewan, tears falling down her wounded cheeks. She stayed silent for a couple of minutes then finally she shook her head. She took off the wires that were connected to her and she got out of the bed. The pain shot through her, making her cringe, but it didn't stop her. She walked out of the room. She would hurt the doctors if they tried to make her stay. Her free hand held onto her stomach as she walked down the hall, the pain becoming worse with each step.

"No, Alex, please, stop!" Ewan rushed after her, his hands hovering by her sides. He didnt want to touch her or pull her, frightened that he'd hurt her. He stepped infront of her and blocked her path. "Please, please stop. Dont do this. Im sorry. I get what your saying. She was just so nice to me. (Here comes some drama laurell muwhaha) If you want me to forget about her, fine. Ill do it. You're so important to me. Ill do whatever you ask, just please go.....lay....back....down." He took a few steps toward her, until his face was only inches from hers. He slipped his arm around her waist and gently (very gently) pulled her closer to him. "Do you want me to carry you?"

Reluctantly, Alex gripped onto Ewan's shirt with her hand to help keep her upright. She was still angry but what Ewan said had calmed her down. "The only way she would ever be nice to you would be if she was trying to manipulate you. Did you ever think that she was trying to get you to go against me? She would love to sink her teeth into me, she's done it once already. None of these injuries that I have were done by anyone but her, her and that damn cat girl. She's got Hunter whipped, I don't want you to turn on me too," By the end of her speech her voice had gone from stern to pleading.

Ewan held her in his arms and softly kissed her head. "I would never turn against you. I guess you still dont understand how I feel about you. I mean, I know its taken you a while to think of me.....as a little more than a friend, but it only took me a few moments. If you really understood, then you'd know that I would choose you over everything and everyone else. You are the only thing that matters to me." He chuckled, staring off down the hallway, his mind looking back on old memories. "If you dont get back in bed, you wont heal and you'll make me a nervous wreck. I have a gift for you, and you wont get it until you heal. I'd bought it for you before the battle..."

Alex thought for a moment and then nodded in defeat. "Alright, I'll go back. Could you at least tell me what the gift is?" She knew it was a worthless try, no gift was told before it was given. She would have to wait until she was healed to get it, something that seemed ages away for her. "Remember, I can't stop you from talking to her but I want you to know there is a reason I don't trust her. It's not only because she is a vampire. There was once a vampire who had his soul restored, but she isn't one of them. She was playing with me at the beginning. Hurting me for the pleasure of it."
