Laurell lay in the grass on her side, her hand clamped over the hole in her chest 'ill be ok Teag' she thought at her as she watched her dispose of some of the humans. she saw Hunter and ewan rushing off into the darkness with their precious cargo. She tried to roll over and groaned in pain 'Teag we need to get out of here' she thought trying not to scream as her wound gapped and pulled at her, she was sure she had a splinter in the hole but couldnt see it clearly. Laurell slowly gained her feet and stumbled off into the darkness of the trees hoping against hope that teagan would follow her

After the remaining vampires left (except for laurell), Ewan thought it was safe to leave and rushed to the hospital. Hunter had already checked Alex into a room and the doctors began to work on her. Hunter waited patiently in the waiting room and was joined by Ewan. Ewan had a thick jacket on to cover all of his wounds. He looked sick himself, but decided against checking himself in. Hunter noticed the look on Ewans face and thought about getting him out of there. "Come on Ewan, lets go." He forcefull pulled Ewan along to a nearby cave in the wilderness. (thats the other thread and meanwhile, Hunter comes back)
Hunter returned, and this time was granted access to Alex's room. He pulled a chair up to her bedside and waited. SHe looked pretty bad.

Alex was in pretty bad shape but her injuries weren't as bad as last time. the slices on her cheek that were made by Laurell and Teagan were held together by a couple of small butterfly band-aids. Her shoulder was wrapped up and in a sling, her nose wasn't broken surprisingly, but was bruised and had a splint over it. Luckily, the arm that Laurell sliced with her blade was the same arm that Teagan took a bite out of so the doctors just wrapped it up.
Alex had been awake for the whole ordeal and while the doctors cleaned her up. She wasn't in the mood to sleep. When Hunter walked in she glanced at him before turning to face the wall infront of her. "I give up..." She said softly.

Teagan ate most of them, the last one though had something worng with him, which threw her completly and made her stumble away, feeling rather ill she moved towards the center of town, knowing the perfect place to hide until she felt better, she was tired and the blood she was tasting was disgusting, making her heave as she moved quickly to the church...

Once the doctors left, Hunter broke out in soft chuckles. "Silly girl, you can't. It'll get easier. This was your first big fight. You'll get stronger and a lot smarter. It just takes time. How are you feeling?" he asked, checking out her wounds.

"Like I got the crap beaten out of me." Alex replied seriously. She turned her head to look at Hunter with a look of pure misery on her face. "I really don't want to do this anymore. I'm fifteen. I should be with my friends right now, hanging at the mall or having a sleepover. Instead I have to lie to them every time they want to hang out. I have to patrol and fight monsters. I'm not even good at it! What did I do to deserve this?"

"You havent done anything and you're right, its completely unfair. Now, you can ignore the creatures of this town and you may live a little longer, but they'll always come back for more. Luckily, you have people who want to help you. You're never gonna have a normal life. It wasnt made for you. Plus, im sure you'd find it boring.....gossiping with your friends about cute boys and going shopping," he said smiling. He looked at her monitor and paperwork before returning his gaze to her. "You'll heal. Im not sure how long it'll take. You took quite a beating"

"Everyone who tries to help me seems to end up dieing. My stepmother, Ryan, I don't even know how Ewan or my father are doing. The field's a bloody mess because of the people who tried to help. I guess I have no choice. God I wish I could've hit that steak just an inch over on that damn vamp. I could've killed her, but I was weak and my aim was messed up because of that." Alex sighed and moved, wincing in pain as a result. She looked down at her arm and grumbled. "Good thing I heal quicker than humans, that cat girl did a number on my shoulder."

"Look dont worry about your friends. Im going to check on your dad and see how he is and Ewan is.....fine. Concentrate on healing. If your try to relax, you should heal up by tomorrow. Then again, ill need you to stay in bed for a couple days after. Later in the week, we'll work on your aim and train. I'll take care of you now. I'll be your.....watcher. Kinda. Is that alright?"
Hunter fluffed her pillow and changed her bandages.

"How can I trust that you won't leave? You've done it once to Ewan." Alex didn't mean for it to sound so mean but she wanted to make sure he wouldn't just decide he had enough and split, leaving her. "What do you mean by fine? And don't lie to me to spare my feelings." She was worried about Ewan, he always seemed to get hurt trying to protect her and he had gotten a lot of silver in him.

Hunter frowned and took a deep breath. Her words stung. "I know what I did was wrong. I wont make that mistake again. I got to speak with Emma for a little bit. She really helped me out. I was just angry with the world and taking care of Ewan......well I wont need to anymore. And dont worry about him......you'll see him sometime tomorrow. But you must rest. Dont let me keep you up," he said, dodging her questioning.

"You never answered my question Hunter, and telling me I'm going to see him tomorrow isn't going to make me forget. How bad is he?" Her voice was stern and full of authority. She didn't sound fifteen, she was older, more mature. Every day she left a bit of her childhood behind, she couldn't be normal, she couldn't have fun. Her life was one big, harsh job.

"He's fine! I told you he was fine and he is. Stop worrying about it. If you worry too much you wont heal quickly. You will see him tomorrow." Hunter stared off into space for a moment and then smiled. "You two were amazing in the field. So young and you still managed to survive that. Incredible. Hey, you see Damien's head go? Brilliant," he said chuckling. "If you really want to know, Ewan's in the process of becoming a hybrid, as we speak." He left out the messy details of pain and fevers.

"How do you become a hybrid? Is it painful? Why is he becoming one?" Alex bombarded Hunter with questions. There were hardly ever hybrids in history so the books that Ryan left her didn't say much. Just that it was a monster with mixed blood. Like a demon and vampire, or werewolf and vampire.

Hunter shook his head and smiled. "No questions. Sleep and maybe tomorrow, he'll tell you. I doubt it. He wouldnt want to make you worry. Trust me, he's fine. Just before he started the hybrid process, all he was asking about was you. Quite the chatter box on the way to the cave." Hunter didnt want to tell Alex that Laurell was the one taking care of Ewan. Alex and Laurell didnt seem to get along very well. "Rest please" he said softly.
