Swings

[spring]

Spring walked to the play park of this god forsaken town, the one she had left to find a better home, having failed that she had returned, now she sat on a swing, pushing herself, her feet hitting the ground, her satin shoes gathering flecks of dirt and dust, her hand curled round the chains and she pushed herself till she was swinging in a nice rythmn. Springs golden curls fell forward under her hood, her cape flowing behind her, her dress gathering dirt that was shot up from the ground, she hummed a gentle tune then.

Laurell wandered through the night dark play park, her eyes and ears on alert for her next snack... the creaking of the swings drew her attention and she changed course wandering closer.... what child could be out playing at this time of night? Laurell stood behind the child swinging, something about her persona rang a bell in laurells mind and she struggled to grip it... then it hit her... "Spring?" she said softly

Spring jumped, her head snapping up, teeth bared, she got off the swing and turned to see who was behind her, her eyes stared for a few moments before ti clicked "laurell!" she squealed running to ehr and throwing her arms round ehr like any child would to their mother or gaurdian.

Laurell grinned sweetly as Spring launched herself into her arms she swung her rund lifting the child feet from the air. "Hey sweety" she breathed as she placed the child back on her feet and ruffled her hair "Where have you been" she asked her

"around" Spring replied after she squealed with excitement and was placed back onto her feet "I tried to find a new home, away from everything, but everywhere i went there was havoc and people wouldn't leave me alone, always trying to push a stake through my heart" Spring looked slightly dishearted "so i came home to Sleepy Hollow, where there are others like me" she sighed and hugged Laurell again "oh how I ahve missed you"

Laurell hugeed the child gently her fingers trailing lovingly through her curls. "Well sweety this place has changed a lot" she said softly leading her over to a bench and sitting with the child next to her, her hand clasped tightly to Springs. "The slayer we got now is pretty good, and she is protected by a hybrid" she told her her eyes distant and sad.... "But on the plus side" she brightened slightly "I just had my birthday and came into some really good powers" she told the girl excitedly

Springs eyes lit up "new powers?" she asked her curiously before looking around "it still looks pretty much the same as it was when i left Laurell" she squeezed her gaurdians ahnd tightly "but there is new people here, ive seen them" her eyes scanned the swings and area around them before turning back to laurell.

Laurell smiled sweetly down at spring "Yes sweety new powers, lots of them" she lent back against the seat and stared off into the distance, "But the town has changed quite a bit, theres a couple of new vampires who seem to be in a battle about who runs the place.... then theres the slayer and her pet dog Ewan" she sighed, "Its seems all the fun has left Hollow"

Spring studied Laurell, her eyes slightly narrowed "what of Hunter and the old slayer? are they both dead?" she tilted ehr head in a cute fashion and smiled then, her little fangs resting on her bottom lip. "this ewan is he annoying like hunter? and the new slayer, will she kill me?"

[laurell]

Laurell hung her head her eyes clouding over slightly "Hunter is dead" she whispered, "Sam killed him... but at least he rests with Emma now" she spoke softly her voice hardly disturbing the air round them. "As for Ewan gahhhhh if i had known how annoying he was going to be i would never have shared blood and saved his sorry life" she spat in anger

"you shared blood!" Spring squealed loudly, jumping off the chair "why? what was you thinking!?" her eyes were wide, anger bubbling "what has that scum done to deserve your blood Laurell" she growled, her teeth bared.

Laurell shook her head and placed a calming hand on Springs arm "It isnt how you think sweety" she breathed her eyes on Springs "Hunter had asked me to... No begged me to really... what was i supposed to do turn him away" her eyes misted slightly "You know I looked on Hunter as a freind" she sighed turning her head away from Spring to stare into the darkness

Spring calmed herself down enough when hunters name was mentioned "if it was for hunter then thats different" she sat back down and looked at Laurell "any new vampires i should avoid?" she asked her gaurdian, cuddling up, having missed her

Laurell wrapped one arm round Springs shoulders andsmiled "Yeah just one to avoid at all costs" she breathed as she stared out at the night dark park "A girl...Sam" she sighed turning back to look at Spring "She is bad news Sweety Promise me you will try to stay out of her way" she intoned

"i will" she said sighing softly, feeling safe "i'll stay away, just because you asked" she smiled up at ehr then "i have missed you laurell, i wondered about you alot, more then once a day, always wondering if you were stilla live, how you were, where you were, i missed you laurell" she buried her face against laurells chest then and breathed in her cent.
